Andre K. Jefferson

Pathways Director

Andre K. Jefferson serves as the Pathways Director for The Griot Theater Company, leveraging a decade of experience in the arts to shape the next generation of performers. He graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a background that informs his commitment to supporting creatives both on and off the stage.

A multifaceted artist and advocate, Andre has performed in numerous stage productions across the U.S, although his creative work extends beyond acting; he is the writer and producer of the feature film “Karter Hall,” which has been nominated for Best Action Film, and the producer of “Brother’s Keeper.” He is also the author of the children’s book, “Big Kid Book.” His talent has been recognized on major platforms, with appearances on The Disney Channel, Amazon, Netflix, ABC, NBC, and HULU.

Andre’s passion for mental health led him to found “Brain Unchained,” a non-profit organization dedicated to suicide prevention and providing support for creatives. This advocacy aligns with his role at Griot, where he leads the following educational programs:

Griot Apprenticeship (Grades 9-12): A specialized program for aspiring performers.

Acting Workshops (Grades 6-8): Focused instruction for middle school students to develop core acting techniques.

Acting Cohort (Grades 9-12): Advanced training for high school students to refine their craft.

Ultimately, Andre K. Jefferson is an actor, director, writer, author, poet, producer, and advocate whose mission is to change the world—one production at a time.
